The Ubuntu Tree
In 2013, three courageous Queen Mothers (A.H., P.L. & T.M.) committed themselves to developing a vision of opportunity where urban communities could create thriving, sustainable destinies through a Voice of Choice. Together they envisioned a place where all within these communities could embrace and activate their Sakhu - the illumination of the spirit - for the betterment of self and the global citizenry. Their legacy of optimism, rooted in the understanding that recognizing, respecting and appreciating culture in its varied forms and epistemologies, is critical to the survival, holistic development and future progress of humanity. Like the legendary Baobab Tree (The Tree of Life), the Ubuntu Tree (Humanity Tree) and its bloosm, seeded from the spirit of Winney and Nelson Mandela, represents new life and new opportunities in the 21st century. When properly grounded as Rootess and Roots, the depth of our self-knowledge and understanding will create boundless possibilities that change the paradigm and landscapes of traditional marginalization communities with reality pedagogies that activate Sakhu in fluid multiplicity . In the spirit of their vision, this effort serves as a reminder of the inevitable when you KNOW THY SELF. Akira
