Roots Scholars Scholastic Projects
When you know Who your are, EVERYTHING is Possible!
Roots Scholars from San Diego Mesa College Black Studies Department conducted research, created an educational display and website on African Contributions to S.T.E.M. As problem solvers, Roots Scholars set out to find alternative approaches that effectively address issues of persistence and success, particularly for students of color who have struggled in meeting math and science requirements that degree attainment and transfer. Their research findings concluded that content, pedagogy and student-teacher relationships were key to achieving success for all student scholars.
